Antique Sterling Embroidery Scissors : French18thC
Antique Sterling Silver Embroidery Scissors: French Romanticism.Figural embroidery scissors in the Romantic style of the late 18th to mid 19th century. Hallmarks on both blades are well worn and believed to represent the crown over D of 1788 to 1789. The male and female flower gathering hikers remain highly detailed. Wear and loss of a minute section of the female figure ankle area are noted. The blade joint is created with a brass pivot pin that moves freely. Length 5.25 inches, figures are 1.5 inches high each, width at finger holds is 2.25 inches.
