THE COURTNEY COLLECTION COMES TO AUCTION WITH A PHOTO DIARY OF WORLD WAR II


Previews of the collection are now taking place.



A selection of major collections throughout periods of American history - from infamy to victory, from the first pitch to the last strike.  This auction will include the newly discovered Courtney Collection of rare photographs from two generations including an extensive personal album of noted World War II original photographs by John Courtney.  Rare 1920s Babe Ruth photos promoting the film "Headin' Home" by Jack Courtney.  A large selection of militaria items including helmets, uniforms, and bags.

This is an original color World War II propaganda poster illustrating the horror of The Lidice Massacre, the complete destruction of the village of Lidice, in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, now the Czech Republic, in June 1942 on orders from Adolf Hitler and the successor of the Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, Kurt Daulege. Deaths: 340 including 82 children exterminated later after transfer to Chełmno Concentration Camp. Target: Czechs who resisted the Fascist Nazi Party.
