Elliott of London for Garrard & Co. Ltd. 8-Day Burr Walnut Veneered Mantel Clock - A 20th-century 8-day mechanical mantel clock manufactured by Elliott of London and retailed by the Crown Jewellers, Garrard & Co. Ltd. The mahogany-finished wooden case is faced with a decorative burr walnut veneer and features a stepped, moulded top and base. The square brass dial plate is decorated with gilt-metal foliate spandrels to each corner. It comprises a silvered chapter ring with black Roman numeral hour markers and an outer Arabic minute track, surrounding a centre finely engraved with floral and scrolling motifs. The dial is inscribed 112 REGENT ST. LONDON W.I. GARRARD & CO. LTD. ELLIOTT LONDON MADE IN ENGLAND. The rear of the clock features a black circular movement cover plate marked MADE IN ENGLAND and bearing the Elliott logo. It houses a mechanical 8-day lever movement with an integrated winding key. Two brass presentation plaques are mounted to the rear, inscribed LEEDS JUNIOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BRYAN HERBERT AWARD with various service categories listed for the years 1974 through 1981.
