Two Pieces of English Ceramics Comprising a Doulton Burslem Kyber Pattern Plate and a Carlton Ware oil lamp lighter - This lot consists of two pieces of decorative English ceramics. The first item is a Doulton Burslem earthenware cabinet plate of circular form with a slightly scalloped rim. It features a transfer-printed and hand-tinted multi-coloured design identified as the Kyber pattern. The decoration includes a central multi-lobed floral motif in cobalt blue and iron red, surrounded by radiating segments with floral sprays. The wide border displays a stylised foliate and scroll pattern in olive green and brown tones. The reverse shows a printed Doulton Burslem crown mark used between circa 1891 and 1902, alongside the handwritten pattern name Kyber and the reference number X 6140. The second item is a Carlton Ware fine earthenware lighter with an elongated, footed body, a high-arching handle, and a tapered spout. It is finished with a ruby-red ground and decorated in a Chinoiserie style landscape featuring pagodas, bridges, and trees in gilt and enamel, characteristic of the Mikado pattern. The rim, handle, and foot are accented with gilding. The underside of the foot bears a printed Carlton Ware script mark. Plate diameter: 24 cm Sauce boat length: 19 cm.
