A Collection of Vintage Meccano Construction Sets and Accessory Outfits - A collection of vintage metal construction system components manufactured by Meccano Ltd., Liverpool, England. The lot comprises seven original red cardboard boxes with applied pictorial labels, including Meccano Set No. 2 and a sequence of Accessory Outfits numbered 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A. Also included is a slim red box for The Arrowplane accessory set. The contents consist of a varied assortment of red and green painted perforated steel strips, plates, and girders, together with black and red pulleys and wheels, and various mechanical parts such as gears and threaded rods. The collection features several period lithographed tins repurposed for sorting small components, including Caribonum tins for bolts, cogs, and springs, and a Teasdale and Co. Ltd. Catarrh Pastilles tin. A handwritten note found within the boxes references a No. 7 set and the 6A outfit.
