W. Britain The Texas Rangers Mounted Cowboys Set - A set of W. Britain (Britains) hollow-cast lead figures produced as a licensed tie-in for the 1936 Paramount Picture film The Texas Rangers. The set comprises five hand-painted mounted figures on horses finished in chestnut and black. The riders are depicted in various poses wearing shirts in red, tan, and black. Three of the figures retain their original wire lasso loops. The collection is housed within its original rectangular pictorial cardboard box with a lift-off lid. The lid artwork features illustrations inspired by the motion picture and includes portraits of the cast, specifically Fred MacMurray, Jack Oakie, Jean Parker, and Lloyd Nolan. Printed text on the lid identifies the manufacturer as W. Britain in London, England. The interior includes original tissue paper packing.
