A Birmingham marked cast iron industrial platform scale - An industrial counterweight platform scale constructed from cast metal with a weathered gold-toned finish. The unit features two circular pedestal bases supporting a balance beam mechanism. This mechanism carries a large, rectangular flat-bed weighing platform on one side and a smaller, octagonal plate for counterweights on the other. A red rectangular label is applied to the central vertical support, bearing the word BIRMINGHAM in capitalised gold-coloured letters. No other manufacturer names or marks are legible.
