Two antique metal signalling lanterns - A group of two metal lanterns intended for signalling or portable use. The first lantern is of rectangular construction with a black-painted metal frame and clear glass panels, fitted with a swinging arched top handle. On the reverse, an embossed rectangular metal identification plate is attached; while the word BIRMINGHAM is readable, the maker's name is not clearly legible. The second item is a cylindrical bullseye-style lantern with a dark metal body and a large convex glass lens secured by a brass or copper bezel. It features a domed vented top and a large D-shaped handle at the rear.
