Two Vintage Metal Railway Signalling Lanterns - Two vintage metal utility lanterns of the type commonly employed for railway or military signalling purposes. The first lantern is finished in olive-drab paint and features a multi-faceted metal body. It bears a small white adhesive label with the handwritten characters '70' in black ink; this label is not legible as a maker name. The second, larger lantern is constructed from blackened metal and includes a prominent rounded hood housing a circular clear glass Fresnel-style lens. Both lanterns are fitted with improvised natural fibre rope handles that have been threaded through integrated metal loops at the top. There are no maker names, factory stamps, or other permanent identifying marks visible on the exterior surfaces of either object.
