Two Fireplace Items comprising a Victorian Dutch Style Repousse Brass Coal Box and a Contemporary Wrought Iron Companion Set - This lot comprises two items of fireplace furniture. The first is a late 19th to early 20th-century coal or fuel box, constructed with a timber carcass overlaid with repousse brass panels. The box features a sloped, hinged lid and canted front corners, with the top and front panels decorated in high relief depicting traditional Dutch tavern scenes with figures seated at tables. These scenes are framed by embossed geometric and foliate borders. The unit is raised on four wooden block feet fitted with metal casters. The second item is a contemporary fireplace companion set and coal bucket made from wrought iron and pressed steel with a black painted finish. The set includes a freestanding frame with scrolled carrying handles, housing a cylindrical bucket with a fitted lid and swing handle. The frame also provides storage for side-mounted tools, including a hearth brush and a metal shovel. No maker marks are visible on either item.
