Bidspirit auction | A Late Victorian Style Polychrome

A Late Victorian Style Polychrome Painted Cast Iron Figural Umbrella Stand - A figural cast iron umbrella or stick stand in the Jack and the Beanstalk pattern. This polychrome painted stand, designed in the late Victorian style, features a central cast figure of a man in 19th-century attire, including a red jacket, breeches, and a hat. He is framed by two large, scrolling foliated arms that form the circular supports for walking sticks or umbrellas. The assembly is mounted onto a decorative, scalloped base with rococo-style scrolls, which functions as a recessed drip tray. The reverse of the piece reveals a hollow casting and a central bolt assembly typical of late 19th or early 20th-century construction. No visible foundry marks or maker's stamps are present on the metalwork.
