A Collection of Late 19th Century Staffordshire Earthenware Figures and Decorative Ceramics - A group of Victorian decorative ceramics comprising a pair of seated King Charles Spaniel figures, a large polychrome flatback figure, a footed bowl, and a commemorative plate. The spaniel figures, traditionally known as Wally dogs, are crafted in glazed white earthenware with moulded fur textures, featuring hand-painted black muzzles, yellow-orange eyes, and red mouths, with visible traces of gilt highlights on the collars and chains. The large flatback chimney ornament depicts a Scottish Highlander in traditional attire, including a kilt, sporran, and plumed bonnet, accompanied by a hunting dog, decorated in green, red, and blue enamel colours. The footed bowl features a scalloped, crimped rim and is decorated with transfer-printed and hand-coloured floral sprays and scrollwork in a deep blue and iron red Imari style palette. The commemorative plate celebrates Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897, displaying a central portrait, an illustration of Windsor Castle, and printed text including Empress of India and Longest Reign on Record. Several items bear small rectangular white adhesive labels with the handwritten inventory code J8535.
