A Collection of Late Nineteenth Century Commemorative and Masonic Medals Including Queen Victoria Jubilee Examples - A collection of late nineteenth century commemorative and Masonic medals including Queen Victoria Jubilee examples. The lot is constructed from various metals including bronze and gold-toned alloys, featuring enamelled details and silk ribbons. A primary piece is a Queen Victoria 1887 Golden Jubilee medal with a central profile portrait surrounded by a green enamelled wreath; the reverse is inscribed H.R.H. ALBERT EDWARD PRINCE OF WALES G.M. JUNE 21 1887 and ICH DIEN beneath the Prince of Wales' feathers. This medal is suspended from a cream silk ribbon with metal bars reading 1837 - 1887 and 13TH JUNE 1887. The collection includes a star-shaped bronze medal inscribed TO COMMEMORATE THE VISIT OF THE PRINCE OF WALES TO INDIA, noting he LEFT ENGLAND OCTOBER 1875 and RETURNED MAY 1876. Fraternal items comprise an oval blue-enamelled medal for LODGE ROYAL ALFRED JUBILEE NO 420 S.C., with the reverse engraved BRO. J. L. G. IBSEN, R.R. A Masonic jewel, likely for a Royal Arch Chapter, features a six-pointed star within a circular band inscribed HONOR FIDELITAS BENEVOLENTIA, while the reverse bears the Latin motto TALIA SI IUNGERE POSSIS SIT TIBI SCIRE SATIS. The assortment is completed by two small square and compass lapel pins, a gold-toned metal figure of Mercury holding a caduceus, and a detached frayed ribbon fragment with ornate metal bars.
