The medals are struck in 925/1000 sterling silver and finished with a layer of 24-carat gold plating to a proof standard. The reverses feature full-colour photographic inserts depicting an official portrait by Sir Cecil Beaton, the Gold State Coach, and the Queen waving from the Buckingham Palace balcony, all within the inscription 65TH ANNIVERSARY OF HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN'S CORONATION and the dates 1953 - 2018.
