Bidspirit auction | An Aubrey Fabing Oil on

An Aubrey Fabing Oil on Canvas Landscape Painting - An Aubrey Fabing oil on canvas landscape painting. This large atmospheric work, dated 1972, depicts a tranquil lake or river scene set against a backdrop of mountains under a soft, pink-toned sky. The composition is anchored by a large, densely foliated tree in the foreground right and a slender birch tree to the left, rendered in a muted palette of greens, greys, and browns. The artist has utilised soft blending in the sky and water areas alongside stippled, textural brushwork to define the foliage and rocky shoreline. The work is signed to the lower left corner in white paint Aubrey Fabing 1972. It is housed in an ornate gilt-finish frame featuring scrolling foliate corner motifs and a textured off-white liner.
