A Collection of Contemporary and Studio Pottery including Kernewek and Danescombe Examples - A collection of contemporary and studio pottery featuring a variety of functional and decorative items in earthenware and terracotta. The group comprises a tall tapered vase with a mottled brown glaze, a stylised giraffe figurine, a teapot with incised foliate patterns, and an assortment of mugs, bowls, and lidded jars in varied earth-toned and vibrant glazes. Several decorative wall plaques are included, featuring relief-moulded motifs of a Green Man, a mouse, a crow, and a Viking style ship set against blue glazed grounds. Notable pieces in the lot carry various manufacturer and potter markings. One vessel base features a circular stamp reading KERNEWEK CORNWALL ENGLAND. Multiple terracotta tiles are incised with a mark composed of three vertical lines under a horizontal top bar; one of these bears an adhesive label reading Danescombe Pottery Ann Marie Hopkins Calstock, Cornwall along with an incised PHOENIX mark. Another tile is incised HOUGH to the reverse, while a vessel base is incised Earthworks accompanied by a painted green and black leaf. A mug decorated with a slip-trailed cow is incised with the characters WW to the underside. One plaque is incised with the words GREEN MAN on the reverse.
