The instrument is constructed with hexagonal rosewood ends featuring ornate pierced fretwork and thirty-one metal buttons, including a thumb-operated brass air lever. The six-fold green leather bellows are decorated with green and gold scrollwork paper decoration and fitted with black leather hand straps. The accompanying hexagonal carrying case is lined with red velvet and features a leather handle and brass hardware. An oval label on the velvet lining of the lid reads LACHENAL & CO.
