Bidspirit auction | An Ornate Rococo Style Gilt

An Ornate Rococo Style Gilt Finished Composite Wall Mirror - An ornate Rococo style wall mirror featuring a gilt finished composite frame. The frame is constructed with elaborate openwork carving in a Rococo revival manner, incorporating characteristic C-scrolls, scrolling acanthus leaves, and prominent rose blossom motifs at the crest, base, and sides. The shaped mirror plate follows the irregular, scrolling inner edge of the frame, creating a decorative silhouette. The finish presents as a warm gold colour with darker accents in the recessed areas to enhance the depth of the carving. No manufacturer's marks, signatures, or retailer labels are visible on the frame or the glass. This lot comprises the mirror only.
