A Set of Twelve 2017 Windsor Mint Gold-Plated Copper British Banknote Commemorative Medallions with Presentation Case - This lot comprises twelve British banknote commemorative medallions issued by the Windsor Mint in 2017. Each piece is struck in gold-plated copper with a proof finish, weighing 54 grams with a diameter of 50 millimetres. The obverse designs feature historical figures and motifs including Charles Darwin, William Shakespeare, George Stephenson, Boulton and Watt, and Britannia, each overlaid with a small colourised adhesive sticker depicting various historical denominations such as the one thousand pound and ten shilling notes. The reverse of each medallion displays a central seated figure of Britannia within an ornate border inscribed BRITISH BANKNOTES. The collection is accompanied by a Certificate of Ownership numbered Z0420, a Certificate of Authenticity numbered 00398, and a technical information leaflet stating a worldwide limitation of 9,999 sets. The medallions are housed in clear acrylic protective capsules within a blue velvet-lined wooden presentation case.
