The ring is constructed with openwork scroll and foliate engraving to the shoulders, tapering to a D-section band. The internal shank bears a full set of British hallmarks including the maker's mark 'H M', a crown, the fineness mark '18' for 18 carat gold, and the wheat sheaf town mark for the Chester Assay Office. The final date letter is partially obscured but the style is consistent with the late Victorian or early Edwardian period. The ring has a total weight of 2.10 grams.
