Bidspirit auction | A Victorian Style 9ct Gold

A Victorian Style 9ct Gold Ring Set With a Single Colourless Gemstone - A Victorian style 9ct gold ring weighing approximately 1.85 grams. The band is constructed of yellow gold and features a central oval-shaped ”gypsy” style panel with a single inset colourless gemstone, possibly a diamond or white sapphire. The inner shank bears a series of hallmarks including the ”375” mark for 9 carat gold fineness, an anchor symbol for the Birmingham Assay Office, and a lowercase date letter ”g” in a shaped shield, which corresponds to the year 1906. There is also a maker's mark reading ”E.S&Co”. The ring shows a slight tapering towards the shoulders and general surface wear consistent with its age.
