Bidspirit auction | A Pair of Tannoy Mercury

A Pair of Tannoy Mercury M20 Hi-Fi Bookshelf Loudspeakers - This lot comprises a pair of two-way bookshelf loudspeakers manufactured by Tannoy. Each unit is constructed from particle board with a walnut or teak effect vinyl wrap finish and features a removable black fabric-covered grille. The front baffles are decorated with a gold-tone trim strip along the lower edge. Each speaker bears an adhesive gold-tone label at the base: to the left, it reads 'Made in Great Britain by Tannoy Ltd'; to the right, a circular device contains the name 'TANNOY' above the text 'Mercury M20'. These units were produced in Great Britain during the 1980s. The internal drivers consist of a tweeter and a woofer, though these remain obscured by the grilles. The rear panels include standard binding posts for speaker wire connection.
