A Pair of Two Hand Carved Ebonised Wood Elephant Figural Stools - A pair of two hand-carved figural stools or plant stands in the form of elephants, comprising one larger and one smaller companion piece. Each stool is carved from a solid block of wood with a dark ebonised or black-stained finish. The elephants are depicted in a walking posture with their trunks curled inward towards their bodies. The circular top surfaces are flat and integrated into the backs of the figures. Both pieces feature incised linear textures across the flanks and legs to simulate elephant skin. The smaller stool is decorated with gold-toned highlights on the ears and tusks, and white paint applied to the toes. The larger stool retains a more naturalistic dark finish with lighter pigment visible on the tusks. The undersides are unfinished wood and bear no legible maker's marks, signatures, or stamps.
