The face of the ring is decorated to the upper left corner with a hand-engraved foliate scroll design, leaving the remainder of the head plain. The shoulders are smooth and taper into a solid band. The interior of the shank bears a full set of British hallmarks including a crown gold standard mark, the fineness mark '375' denoting 9 carat gold, an anchor office mark for Birmingham, and the date letter 'D'.
