Six pages in the handwriting of Maran the Ben Ish Chai
'The righteous are caught in the iniquity of the generation' - three pages in the holy handwriting of Maran the Ben Ish Chai.
In the pages before us, Maran elaborates on the matter of what the righteous are caught in the sin of the generation, because they have the power to protest and they not protest, as well as the story mentioned in the Gemara that the disciples of Rabban Yochanan ben Zakkai visited him before his death, and what he answered them, and other matters.
Rabbeinu Yosef Chaim of Baghdad, author of Ben Ish Chai [1833-1909], the greatest scholar of his city and country, disciple of Rabbeinu Abdallah Somekh. From his youth he was known for his genius and his righteousness. All the rabbis and Dayanim of Baghdad surrendered to his lips, the undisputed leader of all of Babylonian Jewry. His greatness was published all over the world. In the year 1866, when he traveled to the Land of Israel, an angel was revealed to him and revealed that his soul was rooted in the soul of Benayahu ben Jehoiada, and that is why he called the names of many of his writings: 'ben Ish Chai', 'Ben Ish Chayil', 'Rav Pealim', 'Ben Yehoyada' etc.
