A letter and postcard by Rabbi Yechiel Michael Gold of Munkacz, dated 1939, requesting financial assistance for the publication of his monumental halachic work Me’asef Lechol Hamachanos.

Rabbi Yechiel Michael Gold (1900-1944), a favoured pupil of Rabbi Chaim Elazar Shapira, the Minchas Elazar of Munkacz. He was a talented author and published important rabbinic works including Mikra’ei Kodesh, Me’asef Lechol Hamachanos and Tziyunei Yechiel, with his most famous publication being Darkei Chaim Veshalom recording the customs and practices of the Rebbes of Munkacz and bringing rabbinic sources for them.
