Letter dated 1887, requesting assistance for the local community.
Rabbi Yissachar Berish Bernstein (1808-1894), son of Rabbi Shmuel of Amsterdam and a descendant of the most famous European rabbinical dynasties. Dayan of Amsterdam and Rabbi of The Hague (1848).
Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Horowitz (1847-1909), son of Rabbi Yitzchak of Stanislawow, disciple of his grandfather Rabbi Meshulam Yissachar Horowitz – author of Bar Livai, ordained by the Shoel Umeishiv and the Divrei Chayim of Sanz. Rabbi of Zlozitz (1875), Strij (1878) and Stanislawow (1904). Leading halachic authority, author of responsa Harei Besamim.
