Rabbi Efrayim Zalman Margulies (1760-1828), son of Rabbi Menachem Manish and disciple of his uncle Rabbi Alexander Sender Margulies of Satanov. Served as Rabbi of Uhnov, but retired from the rabbinate after making a fortune as a dealer in precious stones, and became a scholar of the famous Brody Klaus. One of the greatest rabbinic authorities of his time and author of many classic works, including Beis Efrayim, Mateh Efrayim and Shaarei Efrayim.
