MYSTICAL LETTER BY THE CABALIST RABBI SHIMON TZVI HOROWITZ (LIEDER), ROSH YESHIVA SHAAR HASHAMAYIM TO RABBI TZVI HIRSH FERBER, RABBI OF KEHILAS CHESED VE’EMES IN LONDON. HANDWRITTEN SIGNED LETTER.

Rabbi Shimon Tzvi Horowitz (1870-1947), son of R. Meir Leib Kaminetzky of Lida and studied at the Rameiles Yeshiva in Vilna before settling in Eretz Yisrael in 1887. He continued his studies at Etz Chaim under Rabbi Shmuel Salant, and mystical studies under Rabbi Sasson Bechor Moshe at the cabbalistic Yeshiva ‘Bet Kel’. In 1906 he was sent by a group of cabbalists on a mission to find the Ten Lost Tribes. He was one of the founders of Yeshivas Shaar Hashamayim for the study of Cabbala. Author of many cabbalistic works.

Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh Ferber (1879-1966), leading London Rabbi and head of the Hisachdus Harabanim in England, born in Lithuania and studied under Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spektor of Kovno, Rabbi Yitzchak Blazer and Rabbi Naftali Amsterdam. He was a leading rabbinical scholar and headed an independent community in the West End of London. First Rosh Yeshiva of Manchester Yeshiva. Talented speaker and author of 14 rabbinic works, including Kerem Hatzvi.
