FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT
(1882 - 1945) Thirty-second President of the United States who instituted the 'New Deal' programs and who led the United States through most of World War II. Good genealogical content T.L.S. as Governor of New York on official letterhead, 1p. 4to., Albany, Mar. 31, 1931 to a newsman. In part: '...I think I can answer your question about Nicholas I. Roosevelt. I take it that the letter I and the letter J were practically interchangeable in those days, and that Nicholas I. is the same person as Nicholas J. John Roosevelt was, I think, his son....several pamphlets have been written in regard to the Oswego County patents...' Old tape repair to verso shows through at lower left, else very good.
