LYNETTE FROMME
(b. 1948) 'Squeaky', a follower of Charles Manson, later attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford, failing to get a shot off when her gun jammed. A.N.S. 'Red Lyn', 1p. 4to., San Diego, ‘March 14’ [n.y.]n full 'I got the letter and the $250. You know it made me smile and that I appreciate it.' Next to the note is a self-portrait showing Fromme hugging the trunk of a tree. Accompanied by the original envelope signed and addressed by Fromme. Fine condition. From a grouping of Manson's letters in the estate of his biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote 'Manson in His Own Words'.
