SUSAN ATKINS
(b. 1948) a.k.a. 'Sadie'. Manson family member and murderer who wrote 'Pig' in Sharon Tate's blood during the infamous 1969 murder spree. ATKINS CONDEMNS MANSON, DECLARES HERSELF 'FORGIVEN' Fine content T.L.S. 'Susan Atkins', 2pp. 4to., Frontera, Aug. 16, 1981 declining to assist in a biography of Charles Manson. Atkins cites an agreement she had made with the warden that following the announcement of her marriage to Donald Lee Laisure (his 35th marriage), she would only grant one interview. She fears that the others would 'turn around' the marriage, making the event 'ugly and negative'. She further thanks her correspondent, Charles Manson's biographer, 'for not printing the remarks that were made to you about my wedding by my co-defendant...I had no knowledge of you upcoming book, and I do not, honestly look forward to reading it or the references that have been made or alluded to me. I am not the woman I was twelve years ago, and know that in that man's [Manson's] mind, he does not and never will see me as I really am TODAY, a transformed born-again Christian woman...There is nothing back there that hasn't been forgiven and Forgotten by God...it is with joy that I live today...'
