A mid 19th century parcel gilt cased HaMelech Esther scroll, megillah, possibly Austro-Hungarian, c.1850, the case stamped with maker's mark S.R in rectangular punch and standard loth mark '12' in oval punch, the cut-out mount over gilt ground featuring a deer, an eagle and a lion, the latter supporting twin tablets with Hebrew characters, 11 lines to a column, depth 4.6cm, case length (inc. winder) 17.2cm.
