1978 SPARROW BURL IVES MEL TILIS Pacific Sea Craft Boat
CELEBRITY SAILBOAT - Flicka 20 - The “SPARROW” This vessel was originally owned by the world-renowned BURL IVES for many years before being gifted to his close friend, country singer/songwriter MEL TILLIS upon his death. Although Burl had other sailboats the “SPARROW” was said to be his pride and joy and he loved sailing the craft. It has been reported that during one particular trip in the Gulf years ago Burl and Mel set a course for some sailing and song collaboration. It was then that Burl expressed his wish that Mel was to receive the “SPARROW” on the condition that he enjoy the boat as much as Burl himself did. Mel did just that and there are many documented photos of him with the ship (and many with Burl as well). In the latter part of 2006, Mel had the boat transported from Missouri to his home in Ocala Florida, where it was professionally dry-docked on his property. At 20 feet in length, this is a true blue-water craft, capable of sailing the high seas. It sleeps 3, has 5Â’11” of headroom in the cabin, dual burner stovetop, sink, head, navigation, communications, 2-cylinder diesel engine, and much more. Comes with a trailer customized for the craft. Original sails are included but will need to be replaced. 1978 Pacific Sea craft - Flicka 20 - The “SPARROW” Hull: Fiberglass Designer: Bruce Bingham Length: 20Â’ - as stated on title 24Â’ including bowsprit Beam: 8Â’Engine: 2-cylinder diesel onboard with original 1 cylinder included (works fine)No. Built 400Boat Wt.: 5500 lbs.
