Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin 1934-1968 pilot, cosmonaut of the USSR, military pilot of the 1st class, Colonel of the USSR Air Force, Hero of the Soviet Union. Vladimir Mikhailovich Komarov 1927-1967 Soviet pilot-cosmonaut, engineer-colonel, Commander of the world's first spaceship crew, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, the first person to be in space twice, the first person to die during a flight into space.
