AN ANTIQUE ENGLISH SILVER OFFICER'S SWORD 18TH C.
An excellent cavalry sword with a steel blade of the "colichemarde" type (wide in the part close to the hilt to increase the strength of defensive actions, tapering towards the bottom). The blade is decorated with engraved floral motifs. The silver hilt consists of a grip and a guard. The handle is straight, completely wrapped in steel wire of different weaving in a spiral. The top of the handle is in the form of a massive spherical head on a leg with longitudinal grooves, decorated with spiral grooves. The English assay marks of silver are stamped on the bow of the grip. The hilt cup with traces of gilding.
