COLONNE EDOUARD: (1838-1910) French Conductor and Violinist. Colonne was a reputed conductor of his time and held the premiere of Tchaikovsky´s fourth symphony in Paris. Signed and inscribed 4 x 6 photograph by Colonne, the image depicting the French Conductor in a head and shoulders pose. Boldly signed in black ink to the photographer´s mount. (`Friendly souvenir to his good friend Claeys, Ed. Colonne´) in French, and dated in Paris, 7th January 1894, in his hand. Matted in gold to an overall size of 9 x 10.5. Together with Peter Benoit (1834-1901) Belgian Composer. Signed 4 x 6 photograph with A.M.Q.S., Peter Benoit, the image depicting the Belgian Composer in a head and shoulders profile pose. Boldly signed in black ink to the photographer´s mountmatted below a carefully penned three bars musical quotation with the text corresponding to the music in his hand, and dated in Anvers, 22nd January 1897, in his hand. Matted in gold to an overall size of 9 x 10.5. Also including Joseph Jongen (1873-1953) Belgian Composer and Organist. Signed and inscribed 10 x 13 photograph of Jongen, the Alban image from Bruxelles showing the Belgian composer in a head and shoulders profile pose. Jongen has added an autograph musical quotation of three bars on two staves in his hand, dated July 1939. Small overall, minor age wear. G £150-200
