Long letter with halachic content dated 1927, written by Rabbi Ahron HaLevy Goldman, first Ashkenazi Rabbi of Argentina, addressed to Rabbi Yosef Schwartz, Rabbi of Machzikei Torah in Grosswardein and author of Vayitzbar Yosef and many other Torah publications.

Rabbi Ahron HaLevy Goldman (1854-1932), first known Ashkenazi Rabbi of Argentina. Born in Russia and settled in Argentina in 1890, founding Moises Ville, the first Jewish agricultural colony, serving as its Rabbi and Rosh Beth Din. He engaged in halachic correspondence with the great rabbinical figures of the era, including Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spector of Kovno, Rabbi Shmuel Salant of Yerushalayim, the Chafetz Chaim and Rabbi Chaim Berlin. Author of Divrei Ahron (Yerushalayim 1981).

Rabbi Yosef haCohen Schwartz (1875-1944), son of Rabbi Naftali Schwartz, author of Beis Naftali and Rabbi of Mad. Disciple of Rabbi Yaakov Tenenbaum, author of Naharei Afarsemon, and son-in-law of Rabbi Eliezer Deutsch, Rabbi of Bonyhad and author of Pri Hasadeh and Tevuas Hasadeh. Dayan in Bonyhad and Rabbi of the Machzikei Torah community in Grosswardein. Authored a large number of halachic works and edited his father-in-law’s writings for publication. For 20 years he served as editor of the respected rabbinical journal ‘Vayelaket Yosef’ including many of his own contributions.
