BOXER MAX SCHMELING SIGNED LETTER 1933
MAX SCHMELING/1916 – 2005) German boxer and heavyweight champion who won the title from, and was later defeated by Joe Louis. He served as an elite paratrooper for the Germans in World War II and was wounded in the invasion of Crete. Lot of two signed items, includes: 1p. Bad Saarow, July 15, 1933, thanking a Mr. Walsh Jr. for sending a previous letter and enclosing a photograph, signed at the conclusion in pencil. Two spots of foxing, creasing towards the edges, else very good. THE SIGNED GLOSSY PHOTO IS FROM MY COLLECTION, POST WAR SIGNED BLUE MARKER, I WILL ENCLOSE WITH LETTER
