Conestoga Wagon American Tin Toy
Hull & Stafford. Clinton, CT - 1860 - 21" Long. Here we have another oversized and impressive early American Tin Toy. Made by Hull & Stafford and possibly using horses they acquired from Merriam Mfg. (notice the well defined cloud tails). The painted, thick wheels and the filigree decoration emblematic of pre Civil War production.
