A leather-cased, four draw, telescope by Ross of London. Serial number 42177. Likely made late 1870's. Case & telescope inscribed "Colonel, Richard Chaloner, Guisborough". Apparently owned and used by Colonel Chaloner (1856-1938), distinguished soldier & politician, who inherited the title of Lord Gisborough.
