Letter written by Rabbi Moshe Shimon Wasserman from Brody at the age of 16. The writer thanks Rabbi Prager for sending his work She’ilas Yaakov to Brody and informs him that it has been bound and presented to the large Beis Hamedrash of Brody. He also requests Rabbi Prager to send a copy for the use of the Belzer Klaus in Brody, where he assures him that a group of scholars study Torah every day. The letter also contains Torah novellae, that reveal the remarkable broad Torah knowledge of the writer at a young age.

Rare four-side Torah correspondence by this author at a young age.

Rabbi Moshe Shimshon Wasserman (b. 1891), Studied at Brody Yeshiva under Rabbi Avraham Menachem Steinberg – Machzeh Avraham, and Rabbi Avraham Binyamin Kluger, follower of the Rebbe of Husiatyn. Drafted to Austrian Army in 1917 and served as chaplain, providing assistance to Galician refugees in Upper Austria. Before WWII served as Rabbi of Breslau (Wroclaw), emigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1940, established the Ruzhin Yeshiva and served as Rabbi of Nevei Shaanan, Tel Aviv.

Rabbi Yaakov Prager (1843-1918), disciple of the Kesav Sofer and adherent of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. Son-in-law of the Maharam Schick. Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva of Ada and of the Petrovoszello region. Author of She’ilas Yaakov and Toras Yaakov.
