Long handwritten signed letter dated 1847, addressed to the Maharam Schick by Rabbi Feish Winter, Dayan of Holitsch.
Rabbi Feish Winter (d. 1863), Dayan of Holitsch. Engaged in rabbinical correspondence with the leading Hungarian rabbis of his time, and responsa addressed to him with great respect, are published in Ksav Sofer, Maharam Schick and Mahari Aszad.
Rabbi Moshe Schick (1807-1879), one of the greatest disciples of the Chassam Sofer and famous Hungarian Rabbi, Rosh Yeshiva and leading halachic authority. Rabbinic leader of Hungarian orthodox Jewry, Rabbi of Yergen (Szentgyorgy) and Huszt, and author of over 1000 halachic responsa published in Shaalos Uteshuvos Maharam Schick, and of other works.
