Rabbi Shalom Kutno of Eisenstadt; letter to his friend Rabbi Eliyahu Menachem Goitein of Högyesz, regarding the book which he had sent him. The same page contains Rabbi Goitein’s reply, praising the book and expressing thanks for it.
Rabbi Shalom Kutno (1826-1909), son of Rabbi Ahron Kutno, Rabbi of Tates and son-in-law of Rabbi Yedidya Gottlieb Fischer of Stuhl-Weissenburg. Rosh Beth Din of Kapuvahr (1854) and Rabbi of Eisenstadt (1870).
Rabbi Eliyahu Menachem Goitein (1838-1902), son of Rabbi Zvi Hirsh - Rabbi of Högyesz and son-in-law of Rabbi Yerachmiel Dov Berish Banet Moreh Tzedek of Lipto-szt-Miklos. Disciple of the Ksav Sofer, Rabbi Yochanan Spitz – Rabbi of Tab and of Rabbi Avraham Paper – Dayan of Tab. Succeeded his father as Rabbi of Högyesz in 1860. Responsa and other rabbinic writings published in Zichron Avos.
