Extremely rare Marrano silver and glass cup - European, undated

A unique extremely rare Marrano cup, produced by an unknown master. This phenominal piece comprises various components to create a complete through the Jewish calendar year  item. The set is crafted with an antique European silver knopped leg (18 - 19th century) engraved and set with 3 semi precious green oval stones, whilst the  main body is white glass and red stained glass windows  decorated with an intricate flower chain design.  An antique European silver removable lid sporting 3  parrots ( 18-19th century) sitting in a circle on a ball holding loops that in turn hold another ball with motifs sit atop the glass body.  The internal set reveals a Kiddush cup with very fine engravings, lions holding the tablets, whilst the internal base shows a Pesach scene, and a further container finely engraved with scenes of Purim contains a miniature Megillah - Scroll of Esther, (circa 19th century) on thick parchment. Yet another silver gilt cup therein has various Jewish themed motifs on raised silver emblems all around the cup.  When turned upside down this cup doubles as a candle holder. The emblems are placed at intervals to coincide with the windows on the glass cup so they can be glimpsed when the cup is closed. In the leg sits a round finely crafted Menorah-Chanukiah with central shamesh. There are small receptacles for the oil and the wicks protrude from them. This is a one off piece and a definate conversation stopper! It will be a real treat to show children and adults alike an example of how the Marrano Jews hid their identity and religious articles from the Inquisition.
