Silver Besomim – Spice Tower, Austrian, 19th century
Very unusual tall silver Spice Tower. Main hexagonal shaped body adorned with arched windows surrounded by brick work, set on chased knopped stem on a tiered etched and chased base. Two ornate curved foliage handles topped by birds in motion on side of body with two bells hung from lower end of the handles. Hexagonal turret castle like structure with open windows and a domed roof topped by another bird in flight sit on the pinacle of the body.
