LARGE CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE PORCELAIN VASE TEA JAR
A large Chinese Famille Verte lidded porcelain vase or tea jar. The exterior of the vase is enameled with blue, red, white, and olive green clouds, dragons and foliage patterns. The vase is adorned with a terracota figural finial in the shape of a foo dog. Marked with a blue ink Calligraphy on the front of the vase. Green family, Famille Verte, uses a range of transparent green enamels that dominate the other enamels, most often red, yellow, aubergine, underglaze cobalt blue, until the end of the 17th century, and enamel blue, from the beginning of the 18th century.
