A Deactivated British Army Webley Revolver No 2 - Mk 1. Circa WW2. Black Bakelite grip. 38 calibre. 12.5cm barrel length.
This is a ‘tank crew’ revolver almost certainly issued to the Royal Tank Regiment. It is hammer-less (or spur-less) so that it cannot be cocked. This avoided the crew accidently cocking and discharging the weapon while moving around inside the tank. As it cannot be manually cocked it is a double (rather than single) action revolver.
