27. A MAGNIFICENT PAIR OF SILVER SABBATH CANDLESTICKS. Vienna, c. 1900. On four serpent head supports. The base of the first candlestick is embossed with The Temple menorah, Noah’s ark, Adam and Eve, The Decalogue, Jacob’s ladder, A Levite jug, The Sacrifice of Isaac and Cohanic hands. The second is embossed with a wine jug surrounded by grapevines, Jonah and the Whale, two loaves of challah bread, King David playing a harp, a judenstern, Samson, a Lion and a fish, and a Jewish woman lighting Sabbath candles. Both in Gothic design. The bobeches in floral design. 16.4” tall. Weighted stems.
