Shisha Sidrei Mishna - A Complete Set - Zhitomir 1851-1860.
A complete set of Mishnayos printed in Zhitomir. A mixed set, consisting of two volumes from the 1851 edition printed by Chanina Lipa, Aryeh Leib and Yehoshua Heschel Shapiro, and another four from the 1860 edition by Aryeh Leib Shapiro. The three brothers initially were in business together, but Aryeh Leib eventually broke off and established his own press with the very same standards of his ancestors who preceded him.
Seder Zerai’im, Mo’ed, Nashim and Kodshim were all printed by Aryeh Leib Shapiro in 1860. (Zerai’im, Mo’ed and Nashim all belonged to a single owner). Nezikin and Taharos however, were printed by Chanina Lipa, Aryeh Leib and Yehoshua Heschel Shapiro in 1851.
Each volume is complete with two title pages, repaired. All bound in uniform modern bindings, and measure approx 26cm. Condition of each volume varies. All in good-fair condition, with occasional repairs and minor stains. Occasional traceworming seen in some volumes, sometimes affecting text.
